Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a significant SMS phishing campaign targeting toll road users in the US since mid-October 2024. The attacks are financially motivated and utilize a smishing kit developed by ‘Wang Duo Yu’. Multiple threat actors are involved in these ongoing attacks, raising concerns about potential financial theft. Cisco Talos researchers, such as Azim Khodjibaev and Chetan, have issued warnings about the widespread nature of this campaign.
